Why Join ICDA?
There is no doubt that most counselors will face a client whose presenting problem revolves in some way around their job or career. As counselors, it is important to understand the formal and informal assessment techniques to help us better formulate our cases so we can fully understand how work adversity might impact someone emotionally.
ICDA is available to all counselors in many ways; perhaps we can recommend an appropriate assessment tool, consult with you on a case, help you find resources on how to find out more about a particular occupation or industry, provide speakers for events, etc. ICDA also offers training in best practices in our field, and the funding we receive from our members helps us to offer these opportunities at a discount. Membership dollars also help us to develop resources such as our Job Search Skills packet and to keep our own website up-to-date.
ICDA is a division of the Illinois Counseling Association (ICA). To join, it is requred to first become a member of ICA and then select ICDA as an additional division. Further detail can be found by visiting https://m360.ilcounseling.org/frontend/portal/SignupOptions.aspx.
